Medical Surgical Nurse New

Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a “Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical” position to provide support to our client’s healthcare system in Albuquerque, NM 87102. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a strong possibility of extension and a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly reputable community hospital!

Job Description:

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts/week
• Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Pay: $2,001.60/week

Overview:

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join a dynamic inpatient care team. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 32-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. This is an excellent opportunity for first-time travelers and seasoned clinicians alike to work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Monitor and document patients’ conditions and responses to treatments.
• Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA.
• Utilize a variety of respiratory and GI care interventions including nasal cannulas, HFNC, feeding tube management, colostomy care, and chest tubes.
• Start and manage IVs, including central/PICC line maintenance and blood draws.
• Implement isolation precautions and wound care including Wound Vacs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including PT, RT, Pharmacy, and Social Services.
• Float to like units as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license (state compact eligible).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (post-orientation).
• Certifications: BLS required; CPI preferred.
• Strong experience with IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and wound care.
• EMR experience preferred (EPIC or similar).
• Open to first-time travelers.
